What to Study

Again, I want to restate the situation I found myself in leading up to the test. I had been out of school for years when I decided to redirect my career. My math skills had definitely eroded. I'm not even sure eroded is strong enough a word. I felt my reading and grammar skills were pretty strong because I had always been an avid reader. (But then again, after some early basic grammar practice exams, I quickly found some of my basics weren't as polished as I'd once thought, particularly with pronoun usage -- e.g.: who, whom, which, that, etc.)

So here is my list of preparation materials to consider:

1) Kelsom Publications recently put together a simple and affordable HOBET/NET Walkthrough e-book. It is intended as an affordable HOBET/NET guide for students in search of the essential information required to score well on the exam. This program covers the necessary math, reading, and grammar skills required for the test. It is priced fairly, comes with a 100% Guarantee, and would be a perfect guide for a student who wants to get started preparing today. If you don't like what you see feel free to take them up on the 100% refund. No questions asked!

2) There is also a product by Morrison Media. They put together  The HOBET Flashcard System. Flashcards are a great way to condition the test taker in you. This product offers a fantastic selection of cards that offer test relevant information. Flashcards work well with the way I study, and if you are a flashcard sort of person, this system maybe be of interest to you. Flashcards are a great supplement to the study process, and if you're one who is looking for ready-made cards, take a look.

3) The  Study Guide for the NET and HOBET is the most widely recognized hard copy prep guide. Many school books stores offer this guide. Of course I purchased this. I had read some of the reviews and found that plenty of people felt the math section was extensively covered, while the reading comprehension was a little thin. My opinion is pretty much the same, but the guide is worth considering.

Beyond that, there are other guides on the market that I used. I feel that I probably overdid it a bit with my preparation, but the fact is I achieved a great score, got in to the program I wanted, and am now on my way to a new career.

I hope these suggestions help.

And best of luck to you!

Christopher
